My grail was a rubber-foam plush allosaurus from the Discovery Channel Store sold during the early 2000s. I’m a huge dinosaur-fag and at at 15 was still riding the high of how awesome Walking with Dinosaurs and The Ballad of Big Al had been. I had very little allowance and was unable to save up enough to get the allo plush before Discovery stores stopped carrying them. For 20 years I scoured eBay whenever I had a moment for any listing for the plush secondhand, never seeing anything.
Then, in 2020 while writing more or less the same post as this on another toy-related forum on a grail thread I decided on a whim to check eBay mid-writing, just for the hell of it. Shit you not, there it was. $97 in decent shape, bought it instantly. Getting that allo at long last brought a joy to my heart I hadn’t felt in so long.
Three years later I found and bought two more.
