You seem clueless so I'll explain it to you. The reason Merlin got made is the same as Gilgamesh and Cu, they're just so freaking good units in FGO. Both Gilgamesh and Cu are released under the Grand Order brand for a reason. Think about this: two of the original characters they could have released since the start of the figma line 13 years back needed the boost of the phone game to be fucking released. Then there's Merlin, the most broken unit in the game that starred in a recent anime adaptation of a chapter of that very same game. Also let's not forget OG Archer that was pretty much rotting in prototype hell for years, until the UBW anime was announced it was pretty much canceled.
Meanwhile, we have a shitton of Artorias, several Neros and a recent explosion of Jeannes released and announced. See a pattern here? You should now this plenty well if you started collecting back when the line was young. I still remember when for several years the only Servant class other than Saber was Medusa and the only guy was Shirou. Things have changed with Grand Order, but the girls are still the stars of the figma show, and now there's even more of them to make into figures.
So yeah, enjoy five or six new versions of Saber being released until they announce another guy. And good luck at it being one you care about.
