>>10295159>>10295327He's all finished! I'm surprised how quick the work actually went, but then again most of my projects are on much bigger figures than this with a lot more painting and gluing. I did have to paint the flesh on Duke's head to make it match with the Marauder arms since I figured the arms will be getting handled a lot more than his face, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Cadian Flesh was a little too dark so I added a little white and some Lahmian glazing medium, working in thin layers to get an even coat. The 25A Duke had very pale skin anyway so I think this is visually a big improvement. I also added a little pink detail for his scar. I only painted the outside of the helmet because I didn't want paint flaking off onto Duke's hair.
Beyond that it was just a matter of cutting the arms and supergluing them back together. Don't use Loctite glue if you're gonna use accelerant though, it comes out cloudy. I had to go over it with a little bit of runny CA glue which basically fixed that.
Thank you everyone who gave advice, especially the anon who suggested the Marauder arm surgery and the necessary parts. Now I have a Duke who looks like what the Retro Collection Duke should have been, and he can even two-hand his rifle! (granted, he can only shoot from the hip, but that's fine.)
