Back when I was REALLY new to collecting toys, I got a crap ton of dumb blind-box figures. To be frank, I regret most of them.
One case in point is the Tiger And Bunny line, I got quite a few of these. I wish I'd just gotten the Figuarts. There are some blind box or mini/static figures that I like(Amiibo come to mind, I also have a small collection of the Funko Retro Mystery Minis(My favorite of that line is Polka, also here for comparison), but it tends to be ones that really have no chance of getting an actual figure.
Lined up with Soul of Chogokin Big O for size comparison, and also to show one of my borderline regrets, as the SoC Big O is definitely my favorite toy, but I also got it literally weeks before they announced the remake.
