Some anon last thread floated the idea that Cliffy's partsforming backpack is to facilitate his use as the rest of throttlebots. While the other cars aren't much of a departure, Rollbar and Wideload have much bigger, awkwardly shaped back-ends that probably wouldn't easily fit on the same mold while still being connected for transformation. But this way, Rollbar's rear cab and Wideload's bed could be entirely separate pieces that fit over the vehicle without requiring massive retools. I wouldn't be surprised if the mold was designed like this so as to be easily "reshelled" in such a way.
