I like posing them because it's the way I've developed from a child to an adult. I've always liked collecting things and toys but of course I don't hunker down on the floor and make them fight, but I have an itching feeling to express their range of motion and to show off the detail and structure of them by posing.
I feel like a miniature museum curator who is trying to make the best display possible for guests. It's like creating a picture that's worth a thousand words on top of being able to photograph them, then having the option to re pose and re shoot whenever you want.
It's also a sure fire way to live fantasies of crossovers I had when I was a kid, like what if the TMNT met the Power Rangers? I also really just like the amount of detail companies go through to recreate a character that has a good range of motion and make it look as realistic as possible.
Every time I get a new figure it's like "hey you're a part of the collection now, come meet the gang, let's pose you for the group photo and make you look sick as hell"
