I honestly think Rise is the funnest TMNT has ever been in years, and I say this as someone who first got into it through the 80s cartoon with the 2003 show being my favorite iteration of turtles for the longest time. Great set of new rogues gallery, familiar yet refreshing modern interpretations of the turtles and Splinter, and a badass Shredder. I would've bought the figures if it was handled by a better company than Playmates of all people.
A shame it bombed because "it was too different" and people hated that April turned black, which I disliked at first, but then it barely even factored in the end yet people will never live this down no matter how good or fun the show was. Also easily the best production quality for a TMNT show ever. Goddamn the top-notch animation quality and colorful style was surreal to see in an American TV show.
