it seems G1 tf fandom incapable to recognize any character outside G1.
for them AU does not exist. that is why they rejects any new identity of their 30 years old cartoon.
for them, TFA Prowl isn't Prowl because he's a ninja and doesn't transform into a police car, Armada Cyclonus isn't Cyclonus becase he's a helicopter, movie Sideswipe because he's not red and is not a lambo. for them, G1 is the character's only identity.
