Secondary refers to a fan that is a fan of a series, but not via the original material. A "filthy secondary" to Fate would be someone that claims to be a fan of the series despite only watching the anime and playing Fate Grand Order, but has never read the original visual novel Fate Stay Night. I typically see it thrown around for anime adapted off visual novels specifically, but it also would be apt to apply it to say, someone that's a big Yoko Taro fan that's never played Drakengard or has only seen the Nier anime instead of actually playing the games.
Yes this is absolutely fucking autistic, and -mostly- rooted in elitism, but sometimes you do get people on an anymous image board that like to act like an authority on something they actually have no footing in.
