Ans so I've finally realized why Bara Manga killed G1. Without the Kanohi, the elemental powers, the contrast between the organic and the mechanical (and the body horror implications that stem from it), Bionicle was no longer Bionicle. Heck, it barely was sci-fi or fantasy. Just a bunch of humans in fancy armor doing stuff.
