New year's resolution time.
I'm gonna go through all (most of) my transformers and give them some R n' R. Dust 'em off, tighten up their joints if I can. That sort of thing.
I figured, since it's topical, to start with Beast Wars.
This 10th anniversary Dinobot. And what is notable about him in my collection is I've never had him put away with the rest. 100% for fear that he would crumble to dust.
He's got a variant on GPS, Brown Plastic Syndrome, super bad. I only ever transformed him one time and one of his heel just snapped off and a peg hole cracked apart.
Handling him again (gently) I have to say the paint work is super good and there's a charm to the amateur Kenner sculpt. Off the back of Jurassic Park the dino bits all look good but there's a visible struggle to have them reconfigure into a robot man.
Articulation is pretty good too, ball jointed knees and hips. Swivels and hinges at the shoulders, swivels at he biceps and even a neck. Sucks that his big flank panels don't tab into anything. They require mush less force to move than the shoulders do. But I can't shake my fist at 25 year old oversights too much.
