>>10095084That’s the standard practice in JP but not entirely disassembling. More like breaking down into sub assemblies. I take all the armor off, all the clear parts off, then break them down into head, uppe and lower torso, pelvis, and limbs. Then before you paint, you have to flex each joint to one extreme, let that cure, then flex it the other way and paint the area that was covered before. So you don’t have bare plastic in the inside on the elbow and such. I pretty much break them down enough that there is no masking to do but leave as much assembled as I can for convenience and because it’s easier to apply shadows that way. You could easily break them down completely if you want, but why?
Picture the two halves of a thigh. Why paint those in halves and try to match up shading that should wrap around and risk more fitting issues when you can just stick some blutack over the holes and paint the whole thigh as a piece?
