The two materials I use are the white nylon and the high def resin.
The white stuff is durable, they glue well with CA. As for sanding this is not easy as the stuff is resistant to abrasives.
one method that works is to add some layers of spray paint. this alone smooths out the surface on most occasions. The paint layers also act as a good surface to sand on
as for the resin, it's quite frail. if you need to drill a hole it is doable but you got to be careful. removing material with a dremel router bit is also doable, but caution needs to be exerted. sanding is ok with sand paper and the print texture is not an issue
On my builds I've been phasing out my hand made metal parts with printed as they are a great alternative. Also for things like Recoilless rifle rounds... there is no other material that works for the perforated case like the HD print material. Even injected molded plastic is not as good as the 3d print
