>>7666632Is it too hipster of me to unironically prefer the unproduced 1986 version? A planet-former is a rough concept to tackle, which is why all the subsequent attempts are loaded with panels and kibble, but I fucking love the zero-bullshit approach the 1986 concept takes. It distills transformer design philosophy to its most utilitarian state and puts it to work, and just takes the absolute shortest route from planet to robot, accuracy be damned. And it actually looks like the most fun to play with and transform, that arm bit especially seems really clever and satisfying. He's the only one who actually delivers on the "planet pincers are helmet horns" concept, as well. Plus him being a huge fatass is a glorious homage to Orson Welles, whether it's intentional or not.
