The biggest problem is 3P in the last two years has become very territorial with who does what outside of stuff like G1, and even then you have New age and Magic square cornering the G1 accurate Legends market and Fanstoys/XTB basically lording over the MP G1 market with MMC just narrowly squeaking in. Since FH started their Unicron Trilogy stuff, other companies went quiet(which is a shame because FH's UT stuff is awful)
We're starting to see more "organic" 3P BW in development, and that was probably a hurdle since the way Takara handled their Season 1 BW MPs is using extensive paint apps a 3P has never donr
>>9968873I think the reason JP BW, and most exclusive Japanese lines(Masterforce, Victory, BWII/Neo) don't get touched much is because they only ran one year, in Japan and possibly Korea and a few other asian nations. One year really isn't much to build up a nostalgic brand; which is why Sentai stuff rarely retains value as well. They're simply unsure of the market and if its worth taking the risk. BW lasted for a few years, and also got a Chinese release.
