Before Covid dropped this TV series became a huge hit in Japan for over 5 years. It was directed by Takeshi Miike (made horror movies in the 90s, wanted to make something light hearted for his grandkids), followed a Sailor Moon-like girls transformation/monster of the week episode pattern, incorporated dancing and young-girl empowerment (subtle but not in your face woke).
It was a nice show that had roleplay merchandise, collectibles, and lots of marketing that got its monies worth.
The actresses even went on tour, had album releases, and have had a following that will take care of their college tuition and then some.
If Hasbro or Mattel can tap TakaraTomy for their license, they'll make bank for sure.
