>>10849952Rewatched the Enel reaction to Luffy yesterday when it came up recommended on yt, made me remember just how much I prefer older One Piece. Still enjoying the new stuff more than I do most shows and a big part of it is placed in subjective 'charm' but its just like you said for me it just feels like there's just more 'SOUL'. Whatever that actually means. A big part of it is the colours for me, lots of the newer stuff looks too clean and bold, like they're made of plastic (which I understand is ironic to whine about in an action figure thread lol). It also coincides with recent story choices I personally am not all that fond of like haki but I won't get into that
I brought it up in the last thread but in addition to the faces and colours the silhouettes of some characters are bulked out and made a bit more normal. Modern EB Sanji still has long thin legs but I prefer the older look where his legs widen out at the bottom so much more. Older Sanji's face looks different too. Idk how to describe it- sleezier almost? Can't complain too much, glad we're getting preskip stuff so soon at all, was a genuinely nice surprise even if its with this caveat :)
