I… I just wanted something with great lore and an engaging story like G1. I don't care too much about the goodness of the sets, I just wanted a comfy, beautiful world I could immerse myself in. There was so much mystery and beauty to be found 2001-2006. Even the darkest places had these characters you could love, and the backstory was practically infinitely deep and mind-blowing. It didn't fall into any of the dumber trappings of toy storylines, and when they did, it was justified, and never hurt the character development or overall storyline. Even when they went to Bara Magna in 2009, I didn't mind too much, because we actually got to see Mata Nui develop as a person (even if it meant the enslavement and repression of the goddamn hero the Mask of Life was), and the eternal desert with primarily biological life wasn't a place we'd been before. I just… I'm so goddamn sad about this whole thing. G2 had potential and squandered it, and then LEGO takes it out back and shoots its fucking brains out with no mercy or sendoff hurrah.
