>>7050888>the vocal crowd screaming "SJW!" will fadeThe issue is, the vocal crowd has poisoned the waters. The ghostbusters reboot did similar things to the new star wars:
>shit on old movies and old characters in the movie>all new characters despite tons of established extended universe characters fans liked>weird, full-of-holes plot that tried to set up the reboot being the new normal with minimal ties to original franchise>weak attempt at establishing groundwork using known villain's name to hype sequel>dealt with backlash from bad movie publicity and word of mouth by shitting on old fans, called them misogynist, not true fans, racist, etc>said their reboot was awesome, even actors weren't hyped to be promoting it at the end of their tour>toys of new characters didn't sell and went on clearance and then rotted on pegs>toys of legacy characters cleared out quicklyNow that franchise is pretty much dead for years.
But these exact same publicity moves and warning signs will work out differently for star wars, right?
