They couldn't do anything with Ghoulia becase she can't talk. Same with Lagoona whos entire personality was literally muh boyfriend crisis but now she is the cool sporty girl which fits her much better.
Moanica is great in my eyes movie wise since she is actually a good antagonist. She has a proper plan, she acts on it, she does everything to win and doesn't lose because she does something unexpectedly stupid at the end. Not to mention she doesn't get converted with the power of love.
