>>6666236You want to use an acrylic or lacquer paint. The most rookie mistake you can make is using the wrong type of paint which will never fully dry and leave the figure sticky. I'm personally using Tamiya acrylic gold leaf because I've had the best results with Tamiya paints. I'd have ideally used their lacquer spray on the various parts, but I didn't trust my ability to mask things off perfectly, nor did I want to risk damaging the figure trying to disassemble it. Another tip for noobs, don't try to glob it all on in one coat. Have patience and use several light coats.
