>>9966704Got my copy of this dude. This pic is kind of misleading because the bot there has some extra accessories that you don't get by only buying EM-05; namely two additional missile pods, pauldrons done in a similar style as the lower limb armor and "ugg boots" for the mecha's feet.
The plastics used are very reminiscent of Iron Factory - and the shoulder and hip joints are ball joints, so some future (heh) maintenance will eventually be needed. Some of the joints on mine have loosened from just an hour or so of fooling around with it, not to the point of being annoying, but you can definitely tell it's there. Articulation is superb, especially the less armor you put on it, but that is to be expected considering its framebot styling. One bit I don't like is that you have to lift the "brachial plexus" missile pod cover if you want to maximize its head articulation.
The pilot is interchangeable with any Dianaut, as in you can have any Dianaut inside the EM's cockpit, but due to the molded in rifle on the EM pilot's right arm, you can't jam them in the tight spaces of Bullet Cores although you can work it out on stuff like Versaulters. Also since it's a simple peg you can just remove the rifle arm altogether. The pilots do not feature magnets on their feet but they use ball joints for the shoulders and hips so they are a bit easier to pose than Dianauts.
You get two different head armor that simply slot in with friction onto the standard framebot head. Height wise it can fully extend its legs to be on par with Versaulters or MS/NA TFs. If you want to wear the leg armor you have to make it go full digitigrade which shortens the total height a bit.
The most interesting bit about this dude is that it has quite a bit of 4mm pegs so you can peg Diaclone stuff on its body, and of course, you can also put EM kibble on Diaclone bots. It can wield all of the Versaulter's weapons which is neat.
All in all it's a decent effort especially considering the price.
