I remember that even after Princess Ai had failed and e-shops were liquidating their Ai toys, those Areala figures were still around in shops' clearance bins. And Ai failed a decade after Areala had come and gone. Areala only sold in the twenty thousands per book, so it was pretty crazy to launch a whole toy line for it. Even if you assume 1/5th of readers will buy the toys, that's not a lot of people nationwide.
