Comparing it to the Hind specifically I think my brain at least was trying to scale things according to the canopies, maybe locking on to them like the "faces" of the aircraft. But as it turns out the Apache's cockpit is nearly an aircraft hangar in its own right compared to the Mi-24's. There's also the passenger compartment in the latter, which as it turns out must be rather on the claustrophobic side of things.
