>>10758923Extremely untrue. Theres a blatant divide seperating import toys and domestic toys and you genuinely pay for qualities domestic toys rarely attain with imports. Yes domestic toys can have great paint and sculpt, sometimes better than imports. Yes domestic toys tend to be larger and consist of more actual material and yes people will fanboy over domestic toys being "import tier" when they incorporate double knees, drop knees and butterflies.
What often gets missed or neglected by domestic collectors comparing their toys to imports is the actual fit and finish of the end product. Imports are simply assembled with superior tolerances and while imperfect, will boast smooth joint movement when even the best domestics will still be hammered by bullshit such as clunky ratcheted/divoted joints made of gummy flexing material.
I think western companies are capable of making figures with smooth moving joints; I own bootlegs of imports that are able to get this right at lower cost and manufacturing tolerances. Sadly the practice of using jerky gummy joints seems to be a deeply ingrained cost cutting measure and also a method of childproofing for the domestic toy industry. Feel free to point out any domestic lines that avoids having ratcheted joints. Heard Jadas Street fighter stuff is really good but dont know if they avoid ratchets.
Tldr domestics can match imports in many regards and look amazing for the price but you can immediately tell imports from domestics apart the moment you actually try to pose them.
