Nothing Japan made was ever close to this until YEARS AFTER Revoltech came out. This is a 2002 toy, that's little different than most toys made since. More articulation than Revoltechs made in 2006. High quality likeness. Fully painted.
This is the standard set for almost every single toyline today. Yeah, Revoltechs may have more articulation today, but they're janky shit. Completely disjointed and extremely stylized. Yamaguchi only set the standard for Kaiyodo, not any other collector company, hence becoming such a niche toyline that no one buy Revoltechfags care about today.

The likeness of that figure is the same as when Hasbro made Street Fighter figures or even Jazwares. It's less poseable too, thanks to those cut joints. Again, it's basically just a McSTatue from 2001... in 2006, because 5 years behind.
