It's like saying having a gun collection is pointless if they can't actually shoot.
Personally, Ive bought a couple of Masterpieces and probably transformed them twice in the years I've owned them. I keep them in robot form because that's how i play with them.
Shit, i own the GI Joe/Transformer sets and none of those vehicles can even transform into robots.
I look forward to the RED figures because their robot forms are pretty much how they appaered in the comics and cartoons. I don't need to spend $50-200 just to have what amounts to the same thing, especially since they won't have a bunch of bulky kibble and hollow negative sides in robot form.
If i want to pretend they can transform, i'll just swap it out with some vehicle or weapon i already own.
Holy shit, you know what would be amazing? More GI Joe/Transformer vehicles, so that the RED figures can have 1:18 scale counterparts. Considering how ridiculous mass shifting is in TF, i have no problems with Optimus Prime being only 9 feet in height compared to GI Joes.
