Alright so, bear with me for a moment. I am being a little generous here and making some assumptions, but I suspect that a lot of reasons why DP looks so bad to us is due to the pose.
Just to be clear, I didn't actually resize anything here. All I did is overlap his chest over his abs a bit to simulate crunching forward (which I think will help his torso length a lot). I straightened his upper body (simulating waist balljoint) so it's not thrusting to the side anymore. And lastly, I straightened his head--I think that big angular jaw jutting out makes his head look bigger than it is, which makes his proportions seem even more fucked.
His proportions are still factually wrong, but I think it at least looks better in my shop. It looks like something I can tolerate.
