Bandai changed the mechanism for the Ohranger ones so that the heads could flip both ways, so I'd say maybe that forced the heads to be smaller, but the Zeo Automorphins released the following year used the same mechanism as the Ohranger figures (but completely different sculpts), and their heads weren't so tiny. Maybe Bandai America refined it to allow for bigger heads. The Kakuranger ones are beefier than the MMPR Automorphins, but they actually have necks and their heads are a bit bigger, so they look pretty well proportioned. Shame BoA didn't pony up for some Aquitian heads and release them in the US instead of trying to sell those cheap bike figures. I think they'd have sold a lot better.
