I would say if you don't have a solid idea in your head just try to copy someone else's work and see where you land.
I reworked green girl btw. New arms new head. People commented on the mouth and I agreed. They also said the head was too small which is what I did to try and sell the scale, but new head looks more alien in proportion so that's what I'm going with.
