You should buy a few basic gundams and some tamiya spray paint when you get to hobbytownusa or a real gundam store.
All you need to do great work is a few spray cans and aligator clips.
Honestly i buy the shit out of that last jedi at-at model kit just to test paints on. Its only 5$, but you can do alot with it.
