Am I the only one worried about this? Did Rise really foul the brand that bad? TMNT has been Playmate's strongest brand from day one and they haven't done anything of note with the brand since Rise's failure. And sure, Rise was bad, but you don't drop an evergreen IP because of one blunder. Fast Forward, anyone?
Why hasn't Playmates announced a stop-gap toyline at least for TMNT? Something like "Classic Turtles" that look like the 80's cartoon, or maybe a proper Mirage style line. The only thing they're making is this "limited edition" collection of the Mirage Turtles using that dated "deluxe" body buck. Why release something like this to the already crowded adult collector's market? Why can't Playmates focus on doing what they do best and fill that empty hole that is the kid friendly TMNT toyline?
