There's tons and tons of nerds who are attractive, yet exude such loner nerd aura that most girls will say he's ugly just because of his demeanor.
And nerds get girlfriends all the time. Bottom of the barrel shit, but they still have relationships. They annoy the fuck out of me at conventions and I'm not even sure why. IT's not even jealousy, because they're just ugly 100.01% of the time.
Parker was never considered an ugly or even average looking person, he was just that kid who hung out with his grandparents and kept to himself. His physique was slight, and even when he became spiderman his appearance wasn't "swole" like you see in the movies until later.
He just got more confidence in himself by becoming a superhero and his looks were enough to have made girls turn their heads toward him before he became spiderman.
