Anyway, I couldn't find any details on how the driver's armored visor goes together but I'm assuming they slide into place on a rhombus cross sectioned block.
My first attempt at casting the visor. I was originally going to cast using silicon rubber but using that stuff is a pain, so I opted to just press mold it with this stuff called Oyumaru. It's reusable and uses boiling hot water to make malleable.
First casting, I used an epoxy putty that dried to have a stiff rubber quality that I'm not liking. You basically just spritz a little silicon lubricant on the mold, wipe away excess, then press the epoxy putty into it.
I'm going to try again with a harder two part resin. Anyway, if you need a fast mold, you might want to check out Oyumaru. The stuff is pretty affordable and a good option for certain situations.
