They're taken out of context to suit the news cycle or a specific anti-this / pro-that narrative.
With KMT, the article that broke her silence was editorialized to suggest that she was speaking out about the supposed fan harassment on her IG account. When you actually read what she said, though, she never mentions fans or IG. She only talks about growing up (in California) and working in Hollywood.
Same thing with Jake Lloyd. When asked about the backlash against his character in TPM, he only cites people in his school & college that gave him a hard time, not fans. However, especially nowadays, garbage news sites will assume it was all because of fan backlash he went to jail and became schizophrenic, or that Ahmed Best thought about committing suicide. It's all spin.
