Especially with resin.
I'm building a Gaso.Line 1/48 kit myself at the moment. Really good quality.
If some parts are bent, put them in hot water and straighten them.
If you sand it, wear a mask and/or do it on your balcony. You don't want resin dust in your lung (nor your apartment). It can cause literally cancer.
Doing it under running water might work too.
Use gel super glue, its (at least for me) easier to work with than the thin stuff.
