Believe it or not, there was a "selfie figure" for GI Joe in the 90s in the form of the mail-away Steel Brigade figure, but it was not actually all that exciting. It was just a masked figure that came with a customized file card with your name written on it. It wasn't even a cardboard one that matched the official file cards, it was just a printed out sheet of paper, which I guess was more impressive back when most people didn't have home printers. In any case though, I remember really liking the idea of having a GI Joe of myself when I was a kid, and in a way I'd love to get one for myself as an adult on behalf of my childhood self.
