>>9436420Right at this instant, the second metallic version of Magic Square’s Light of Justice. If you can wait a couple of months, there’s two new options: Newage’s Optimus Prime and Magic Square’s 2.0 version. The Magic Square looks like a downscaled MP-44 with some different engineering in the legs, Newage’s is a wholly original design. Which one you would prefer is going to come down to a few factors - Magic Square’s currently has the better-looking robot mode and seems to have more articulation, however they use a very specific type of nylon-based plastic on most of their figures that people either love or hate; it’s somewhat soft and pliable but extremely durable, and has a chalky, matte finish to it. Aside from their limited full metallic paint jobs MS figures don’t tend to have too much paint and instead rely on the finish of the plastic to set most of their colours. Their transformations tend to be intricate and complex, but with occasional tolerance issues created by their material choices. Newage’s Optimus doesn’t look as impressive nor quite as articulated, but based on their previous track record it’s likely to be made of harder plastics with better tolerancing, have better paint, and a more enjoyable transformation with some diecast parts integrated into the figure. So with all that in mind if you want the ultimate mini display piece in robot mode, MS is likely to be the best pick for you. If you dislike their materials and like to play with your Transformers, and you can deal with the aforementioned questionable design choices, the NA might be better for you. It’s really going to come down to what you personally want from the toy.
