wars.com would just link to fanssites and Botcon, whcih is how I discovered the fandom. I really liked the botcon guys, I thought it was cool how they'd run the gamut from just normal grunts to super special overpowered characters. It was nice to add something new but ultimately unimportant to the franchise; enough to make it special to go, but not something you feel alienated if you get left out. I think it works out much nicer than doing homages to existing characters that quickly get outdated when official versions are made(like what is the point of botcon arcee anymore?)
