>>6911998>will many of the sequels haters start boycotting all Hasbro products even after Disney changes up their goals for the Star Wars movies after the Hasbro purchase?I'm not sure the boycot will stick or have any impact. Also I doubt they will buy Hasbro that was already covered in the thread way earlier. Though Hasbro does have a boatload of attractive properties, much like purchases Lucasfilm and Marvel, it would be a pretty massive undertaking to work out all the previous film and option deals lingering out.
>>6912011iirc wasn't Mattel big issue that got them here putting all their money into the brand but not outsourcing to make the brand name strong? Hasbro's key power is they have shared and spent a lot of money to make their brands stick. Paramount folr both the TF and GiJoe movies was a costly venture being just over 1 billion when it was all said and done in 2007 but ten years later the TF films cleared over 10 billion in sales and the TF toy brand sold made over 9 billion in profits between 2007 and 2013 meaning that it paid off. They keep doing this too like the cross deal between Walmart and Netfilx with the Stretch Armstrong brand which is seeing moderate success. The Hub has been their only bad venture but that was far to ambitious for them at least in a post streaming world. Still they are in no means hurting enough for Disney to be able to sway share holders to throw in with them.
