Bandai's done similar shit before. When Kaiyodo was doing the Revoltech kaiju, they weren't allowed to do Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah because Bandai had exclusivity rights to them. That was why Kaiyodo decided to cancel the line. Bandai also prevented the Hiya Monsterverse figures from getting released in Japan even after Hiya was finally able to get international distribution rights.
