Hello all. Going to dive into my first scale model soon, I bought an Academy 1/72 F4F-4 Wildcat. I've got basic airbrush experience from doing Gundam models, and I'm not new to plastic cement. I looked into the guide at the top, but am wondering what the general consensus would be about the process for cementing/painting when the parts have tabs to slide in, as well as tiny parts like fuselage that obviously have to be cemented on. I'm attaching a pic of the runners, so you can see the tabs on the wings.
Should I paint the wings alone, then attach them with the slots, or cement the model as a whole, fill gaps, apply masking tape to all the necessary places, and paint the whole model as one piece? Is there any reason to hold off on cementing some pieces such as the canopy?
