I don't think media should dictate what we take into our collections (The MCU has been terrible for most of its run but MCU Iron Man has some really cool toys) but we all have exceptions to our personal rules.
Mine is that I don't want any IDW design in my collection unless there's something I really like about the toy, like CW Ultra Magnus but only because it's leaner than G1 Ultra Magnus and the Perfect Effect kit was cool. Tarn doesn't make the cut but it's a good mold, which is why I might keep it as something else. I just need to get a junker ROTF Soundwave to kitbash them together.
