i mostly chose 1/72 for space reasons - i want alot of models. 1/48 is pretty niche there's less diversity in terms of kit manufacturer and much less aftermarket stuff because its a smaller market than both 1/72 or 1/35.
I've come to appreciate 1/72 since kits are relatively cheap you can experiment with things, kitbash, cannibalise parts. It'll never have the detail and vehicle choice of 1/35 but i like it.
