>>7184135> Show-accurate is hideous because the CGI models were cheap and cheated. This is actually reasonable because the low poly models are perfect for 3Ps to imitate. Getting the printing right will be near impossible but the more reptillian/insect characters, which works out because I doubt Takara will do many Predacons. Plus it actually opens the door for doing the anime Beast characters in anime inspired style; and that opens up the potential for just about every mold in the US line to have a model sheet to base an MP off on. Won't happen, of course, but its on the table.
> The official MPs have either not been an improvement...Go figure the standard Generations retail figures were miles better at 1/10 the price.haha ok. Whatever you think. Universe Dinobot does some cools tuff but I'd never want it on my shelf ever again with MP Dinobot around. You might hate the Beast mode on the MP but it captures the CGI well and that gives it a lot of charm.
The transmetals are an obvious one to adapt, and they aren't as perfect as you'd think. We get MP updates from takara and 3P even when the classics figures are perfectly adequate, because there's still room for improvement even on modern toys, and the scale is totally different. Plus you have cases like Transmetal Megatron where a 3P would be larger and more articulated and still go for about the higher end price a Japanese Metals Megatron sells for. Tarantulas is a fan favorite character and hasn't had a new mold of his own in decades; a Transmetal update can have actual hands and articulated legs. A TM rattrap that could scale to MP Dinobot so he could ride it would be nice
