I'm currently away from home, unable to build, but I've had an idea for a kit that's sitting in my backlog. Here's a promotional picture of the finished kit
I like the design and the sleekness of it, but its a bit simple. Even the finished kit just has these bits of orange here and there, and all those molded details are basically lost in the black expanse. The idea I have is this:
First, get some orange ink ([

Second, use that orange ink as the pigment in some home made paint and panel wash.
Third: Heavily Drybrush all the visible "Internal" pieces of the mech, such as the visible pistons on the thighs, the joints in the elbows and knees, etc. Then panel line the rest of the kit in the same orange.
The hope is that this will make the kit look as though it is internally hot, with that heat rising up through the innards and leaking out through the plates. What do you guys think? I've not tried this kind of effect before or built this model so I'm going entirely by minds eye here.
