>>10558610NTA but my main beef is the inaccuracy of the figure. The big head is a stylistic choice to match Gleason’s art, although I still feel it’s too large, but I can forgive that. He’s also supposed to have exposed webshooters (which Hasbro would never do since it would mean a new arm part, fine, I can get over it), but there’s other details that just would’ve meant different paint apps. My main issue is the design: the spider logo is supposed to cover the shoulders and be more akin to Ben’s old Spidey costume. He’s also missing the squares on the backs of his hands. And the triangles that cut into the boots. All of which could’ve been just different paint apps. Lastly, his costume is really supposed to be blue: he’s shown next to Peter like a dozen times and they both have matching colors. It’s not a black and red costume. And you might say, they based it off of early art so they screwed it up. The same wave features Chasm, Ben’s new design that showed up after he’d been wearing this Spidey suit for almost a year. So they had access to plenty of art to base it off of, plus the original concept art had all these details and blue colors, plus the card art they used even has those details and colors correct from the book. So they took the lazy route and pulled one image where the colors weren’t as bright blue as they needed to be, and they just skipped the rest of the paint apps for no reason.
Also the lack of six hands is pretty lame. I saw this custom the other day, it was a repaint that more closely matched the comic art. Not the best paint apps but I still would’ve preferred this to what we got.
