>>9138517>They at least tried and made an effort, which is more than most pessimistic consoomers do.Is it really? There have been Bionicle cosplays with far more effort than "get a wig, get coloured outfit,EVA foam wings and a cutiemark and you are Rainbow Dash" type of cosplay. Of course I am talking about the high effort and actually decent or good looking ones.
Sure these casual cosplay gals dressing as the mane 6 have fun and I'll respect that but don't come up at me with the effort argument because if effort alone is the measurement of worth then the average MLP cosplay is worthless.Meanwhile to make a good Bionicle cosplay you need to put on a lot of effort and resources. There is a reason why you don't see thousands of Iron Men at a same convention unless it's some big international ones and if you add that the small size of the fanbase you can guess why we only got like two good cosplays plus others that might have passed the radar.
>Says a guy posting in a thread that gets regularly spammed with BBW/Nuvatits mocsI could argue that making a functional plushie onahole is actually worse than the nuvatits and even the fat fixation of that one anon.
>MLP is also primarily a toylineI know, but then why didn't it catch as much popularity as, say, Transformers did until this last gen even if they are roughly as old
What do you think got posted frequently on 4chan in 2011,
what do you think got the attention and started a fandom,
the toys or the cartoon?
> G4 was the first time they decided to put actual effort into the tie-in cartoon.Seems like you already answered the question yourself
