Saw a thread on a TF board saying how there was a running change on TM2 Megs when he got his repack in Legacy Evolution and saw him discounted a bit on Amazon, so I bought this guy a second time. I usually don't do that and was going to pull the ole "switch figure, mark as defective, send back" thing since I thought the dragon claws were defective since they didn't seem to want to tab into the robot chest and he had huge purple paint blobs on him. Decided not to do that and to keep both and just use the old one to try modding to make him better and then sort of Frankenstein a figure out of the best parts. Glad I did.
Now this dude has a DNA kit hand and face, some paint mods to make the legs pop a bit, a mod to his back kibble to make it tab in and lock the entire shoulder assembly in, and 2 ruined thumbs trying to get the exact right amount of excessive force to get the chest tabs in correctly and securely later and I think I have one of my favorite figures. He doesn't quite match the show, but I always thought even as a kid that the CGI model had weird fucking proportions that made him look goofy and not intimidating at all in the show. After all these mods I can say that I honestly think I prefer these proportions minus the dragon elbows sticking out of his chest. He just looks like he could throw down, I guess.
I wish Hasbro at least put these extra paint apps on him for the release. I appreciate they swapped the wing tips and toned down the chest purple on him on the repack though. I don't even think the original head sculpt was that bad desu, but I just wanted something smoother.
Anyways I hope we get more Transmetals or Transmetal 2's. I know Silverbolt is coming. Also if you're that guy who keeps saying they said they're not making Transmetals I'm going to come to your house and tell your mom you're telling lies. DO NOT REPLY I DO NOT GIVE CONSENT.
