In the meantime I decided to try out the "bird with digestive problem walks all over the plane" preshading technique on a shitty old Hasegawa Mirage F1, with the first color on it actually looks better than I expected. I'll probably have to touch it up a little before getting the second color on but I see why people do that random airbrush spray on heavily worn planes
